Vegetable Farm School launched at Chedema

Kohima, October 4 (MExN): ATMA Kohima Block, as part of its cafeteria of activities launched a Vegetable Farm School at Chedema model village on October 4 with Teisovilie Medom, a progressive farmer, as the Farm School teacher.  

Farm school under ATMA is operationalised at the Block level. One of the main activities of a Farm School is to conduct demonstrations in one or more crops and/or allied sector activities and provide season long technical training to the target farmers. Members of FIGs (Farmers’ Interest Group) and FSGs (Food Security Group); and other farmers are the target farmers also known as Farm School students. There is continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills of both teacher and students of the farm school through training at district/state/ national level institutions and exposure visits etc.  

The programme was attended by the Farmer Friends, members of Kenei FIG and Siedze FSG of Chedema Model village and Chedema Bawe respectively along with functionaries of ATMA Kohima Block.
