•-I would like to put in these few lines just out of curiosity and if it may be of some use later for the common public.
Just recently, I happened to be at the Regional Transport Office, Kohima, to register a private vehicle and I guess i felt the pinch because of the existing fee structure of charging 5% of the vehicle cost.
Well in fact, like everybody else I cleared the fees because that was a requirement. So far so good, but on comparison with the neighboring states I felt the fees was as much higher.
On discussing the issue with some friends I found that the same had been a matter of concern but with what benefit. Some said that the fee structure was in existence to discourage the public from buying private vehicles and I found that pretty silly. Because no matter what, more and more people are owning their own vehicles because of their own reason.
I feel this is some sort of daylight robbery and certainly needs some attention and debate. Well, What do you have to say?
