Vehicles damaged in Manipur

Zeliangrong orgs protest against ‘abduction’ of students’ leaders   Newmai News Network Imphal | August 16   Atleast four vehicles, including three trucks, were damaged by suspected bandh supporters in the wee hours of today along Imphal-Jiribam in Manipur. The 24-hour bandh is undergoing since the midnight of August 15 imposed by "Zeliangrong civil organisations in Zeliangrong areas" in protest against alleged the abduction some student organisation leaders on August 4, 2018 in Tamenglong district headquarters.   They are also demanding from the government the immediate arrest of some functionaries of NSCN-IM whom he agitators alleged, are involved in the alleged abduction.   According to sources, suspected bandh supporters set ablaze two trucks and also damaged one truck and one passenger carrier vans. The sources said that two trucks were set ablaze near Tupul under New Keithelmanbi Police under Kangpokpi district. The trucks were coming from Jiribam to Imphal carrying onions and potatoes while the other two vehicles were damaged near Kaiphundai under Tousem Police Station, Tamenglong district along Imphal-Jiribam road.
