Vehicular bandh lifted on Niuland–Zhadima road

Niuland, September 17 (MExN): The bandh on vehicular movement along the Niuland–Zhadima road has been lifted following assurances from the Chief Engineer, PWD (Road&Bridges), Nagaland, that the road has been prioritised for inclusion in upcoming plans and schemes.

According to the assurance, the Niuland–Zhadima road has been recommended for consideration under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) priority list for 2025–26.

In light of this, Hovishe and Ghotovi villages jointly announced the lifting of the bandh with effect from September 17, 2025.
However, the villages cautioned that failure to act on the assurances given would compel them to resort to “appropriate democratic action.”

The announcement was made in the presence of EAC Niuland, the EE PWD (R&B) Dimapur Division, and village leaders from Hovishe and Ghotovi.
