Venuzo Dawhuo today defeated Besuhveto Cümu in the final bout to emerge the champion of 28th edition of Chokri Area Wrestling Association (CAWA) championship 2020 held at Thenyizumi village under Phek district.
Venüzo Dawhuo of Thenyizu village walked home with a cash prize of Rs 80,000 sponsored by the host village.
The first runner-up Besüveto of Phüsachodü village pocketed Rs. 60,000 sponsored by advocate Veswupoyi Theyo,
Vekuyi Medeo of Phüsachodü village and Medozho Kapü of Thenyizu village stood third and fourth position respectively.
They received Rs 50,000 and Rs. 40,000 sponsored by Thejongoyi Theyo, proprietor, Theyo Gas Agency, Chetheba and CAWA respectively.
In under-16 category, Ozho Kezo of North Kikruma emerged the champion while Vesayi Tetseo of K. Basa, Vehüto Keyho of Chetheba and Mhasezo Chuzho of Thipuzu stood second, third and fourth place respectively.
Earlier, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu and Nagaland State Lotteries director Zhothisa Dawhuo graced the event as special guest and guest of honour respectively.
