Venuzo Dawhuo emerges champion of 3rd CWA Open Traditional Naga wrestling

Venuzo Dawhuo today emerged the champion of the 3rd Senior Open Naga Traditional Wrestling Championship organized by Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) at Pfutsero in Phek district.

In the final bout, Dawhuo from Thenyizu village defeated Venu Vadeo (Runguzu Old) to emerge the champion title and received Rs. 2 lakh
Vadeo got Rs 1. 20 lakh.

Rukukhuto Khusoh (Yoruba) won the third place and received Rs. 70,000 while Keneiselie Khawakhrie from Mezoma bagged the fourth position and received Rs 50,000.

The quarter finalists Huluyi D Vadeo, Thuputha Hesuh, Krulhuto Venyo and Mulusu Veswu were also awarded with Rs. 10,000 each.

In the U-15 category, Kutho Puro from Porba emerged champion title and received Rs 15,000

The second position Lhiwe Ngachu received Rs 10,000 while third place winner Nehuta Chuzho awarded with Rs 7000.

Fourth place winner Tsuhu Tetseo received Rs. 5000.

Quarter finalists Betsho Aruji, Tshete Duolo, Vezhopa Dawhuo and Munuhu Chuero were awarded with Rs.2000 each.

The award was handed over by Veyielo Doulo, Director Tourism and Vivolie Kezo, president Nagaland Wrestling Association.

The event was managed by Chakhesang Catholic Association.
