Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): Verdicts on various criminal cases have been passed by the Court of the ADC (J) Dimapur in regard to different murder cases.
One Pobin Nath was sentenced to undergo 14 years Rigorous Imprisonment. He was convicted for the murder of one Shyam Kishore who was found dead with his two legs severed from the knee down, near Gate No.2 of Thahekhu Village. The accused Pobin Nath later placed the dead body on rail track where a train ran over the deceased severing his legs. The motive of the murder was established to be a suspected affair between the deceased and the wife of the accused.
Also, the five Nigerians who were arrested over a period of months this year were sentenced to one year simple imprisonment for violating the RAP regulations.
In another verdict, one Mohar Ali and accomplice Kairul Ali were sentenced to 14 years of Rigorous Imprisonment for murdering Saniara Begum, wife of the former on October 26, 2000. The Court established that the motive of the murder was that Begum left her husband and went to live in her parents’ house as her husband Mohar Ali was suffering from a sexual disease.
