Veterinary director visits bovine outbreak area

Sufficient vaccine available, farmers asked to contact RRT officials in Ngwalwa

    Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The Director of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry along with a team of officers visited the area in Peren where buffaloes have been affected by Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) on April 22 to take stock of the situation and assess the gravity of the outbreak.   A press release appended by the Director, Dr. R Thungchamo Ezung, informed that at present sufficient vaccine and medicines are available at the Liaison centre, Ngwalwa, which is being manned by the Rapid Response Team (RRT). Therefore, farmers have been advised to contact the RRT officers in Ngwalwa for vaccination and treatment besides reporting any suspected case and death of the livestock immediately.
