Veterinary dispensary inaugurated in Saringyim

Mokokchung, March 27 (MExN): Saringyim Veterinary Dispensary under Mokokchung district was formally inaugurated by Dr. IP Khala, Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Nagaland on March 24.  

Dr. IP Khala thanked the Saringyim Village Council for the land allocation to set up the veterinary dispensary. Saringyim being a border village has strategic importance for the Veterinary department in the control and surveillance of trans-border diseases, he pointed out. The area itself being blessed with abundant natural resources and favorable climatic conditions, Dr. Khala encouraged the people of the area to go for livestock and poultry rearing in a large scale, according to a press release from AH&VS department.  

The inaugural program was chaired by Dr. Salangtemjen, CVO Mokokchung and a short speech was presented by the Chairman of Tsurmen village. It was attended by officers from the Directorate led by Dr. L. Temsu Jamir, Joint Director and officers from Mokokchung district.  

Earlier in the day, the Director also launched the Village Piggery Development under RKVY 2017-18 at Nokpu village where breeding boars, feeds and equipments were distributed to the villagers.
