Dimapur, February 11 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, S. Chuba Longkumer inaugurated VHC cum Quarinetine Check Post at Lotovi village, Dimapur on February 11.
Addressing the inaugural function, the Parliamentary Secretary thanked the Head GB of Lotovi village for giving the land for opening of the Quarantine Check Post. He said that earlier opening of such post was not favoured but now people have understood the benefit as it checks the health of all the animals from different disease which are harmful for human consumption. Longkumer observed that the bazaar in Lotovi village is one of the biggest in the State and therefore urged the villagers to do business with patience and honesty. He further sought the cooperation of GBs and the village council for successful functioning of the check post for the welfare of the public. Where there is no public cooperation and unity there will not be any development, he said.
Director, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Thungchamo Ezung in his speech mentioned that opening of a Quarantine Check Post is a step further towards better living. He said that opening of a centre is a long process with financial involvement for which he thanked the government for allowing the department to open three such centres in the State. He further encouraged the villager to adopt healthy habits of animal rearing for healthier living. Ezung also acknowledged the sincerity and hard work of his officers towards successful completion of the quarantine check post and further sought the cooperation of the villagers.
