Vianney League 2025 football tournament begins

DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN): The Vianney League 2025 Football Tournament commenced at Good Shepherd Seminary, Thahekhu, Dimapur, with an inaugural ceremony held on Saturday.

The tournament was officially kicked off by Rev Fr C. Joseph, Counsellor at St Joseph College (Autonomous), Jakhama, in the presence of several dignitaries. Addressing the players, the Rector of the Seminary extended his best wishes and encouraged them to stay rooted in their passion for the sport while pursuing their personal goals. He reminded participants to draw motivation from their love for the game. The final match is scheduled for August 4 at 8:30 am at the GSS football ground, coinciding with the feast day of St John Vianney—a French Catholic priest known for his pastoral work in Ars, France, and the spiritual revival of the local community.
