These chicken vices sometime become quite extensive right from the beginning and their eradication pose a big problem. These vices usually may incur huge financial loss to the farmers Some of the chicken vices are:
1. Egg eating 2. Feather picking/pulling 3. Toe picking 4. Fighting 5. Vent picking
Steps to prevent vices in chicken are:1. Sufficient well balanced nutritional feeds and potable clean drinking water 2. Provide sufficient space for every chicken, avoid overcrowding 3. Avoid intermixing of different age of chicken, provide separate shed for chick, grower and layer 4. Keep the chicken free from external ecto-parasite 5. Chicken house should be dry and airy 6. Darken the chicken nest area when in laying stages 7. Regular deworming of the chicken 8. Separation of sick, weak chicken from the main flock 9. Provide daily sufficient green forages leaves 10. Debeaking of the chicken at grower stages 11. Cull or separate the vices chicken from the main flock immediately
