TUENSANG, OCTOBER 13 (MExN): Nyenshen FC and Strangers’ United FC scored victories in their respective games on Saturday at the Loyem Memorial Trophy in Tuensang. Nyenshen routed New Young FC 5-0 in a match that saw Imlong Chaba and Souhambou each striking twice, while Rabindra scored a goal to complete the rout.
The other game between Strangers’ United and Saoyang Sporting FC saw the fastest goal of the tournament so far. Nungsang of Strangers’ scored 38 seconds into the whistle to rattle Saoyang. But Saoyang was quick to recover getting a morale boosting equaliser in the 17th. Nungsang and Bei struck after the break to get an unassailable 3-1 lead.
On Friday, Settle FC and Oziepik FC settled for a scoreless draw. In the other game of the day, Foothill United FC was unable to consolidate an early lead against DEF Tsg. Ritisase got the lead in the 18th minute. DEF Tsg recuperated after the break to score two in the 51st and 59th.
