
Dimapur, September 9 (DIPR): Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, K. Vikato Kinimi inaugurated the Health Sub Centre at Vidima village on September 9. This center becomes the 12th Health Sub Centre under Chumukedima Primary Health Centre.
The village also observed ‘no tobacco free village’ during the function and the CMO Dimapur remarked that this would further enhance the health status of the villagers. He said that “Vidima village is the second village in the world to be declared as tobacco free village.” Certificates were handed over to the village council by the Chief Tobacco Control Cell which is under the National Tobacco Control Programme.
Additional Director IPR, Dominic Yazokie in his short speech expressed gratitude to the Health and Family Welfare Department for creating the health facility and on behalf of the village assured to take care of the facility with a sense of ownership and responsibility. He made an appeal to the Department for providing adequate manpower to man the centre so that the services rendered would benefit the villagers.
Dedicatory prayer of the health centre was offered by Pastor Vidima Baptist Church, AkhobuNagi while the proceeding of the programme was led by village council chairman Pelezo. Welcome address was delivered by former Secretary Vidima village council and founding member of the village Thepfuselie. Neigbouring village council members also attended the function.
