Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan to launch in Nagaland on May 29

Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): The pre-kharif campaign Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, developed by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), will be launched on May 29 . The campaign will run across India until June 21. 

The launch event will be graced Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, S Supongmeren Jamir as the chief guest, and attended by around 400 farmers, informed a press release. 

In Nagaland, KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra) Dimapur is preparing to cover 144 villages across Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts, it added. 

The campaign involves four teams, each covering three villages per day, aiming to reach approximately 450 villages daily.

Each team includes technical experts from ICAR Nagaland Centre, ICAR NRC on Mithun, College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CAU) Jalukie, KVK, and state government departments such as agriculture, horticulture, fishery, and animal husbandry.

The initiative aims to raise awareness of improved agricultural technologies, promote government schemes, reciprocal learning between scientists and farmers, and document grassroots insights to strengthen agricultural research etc, the release added.
