Tuensang, January 28: Awareness training of village health committee and stakeholders of communitized health centre under Thonoknyu block was conducted on January 25 at Thonoknyu Town.
Resource person Dr. T Pangchung Sangtam, Dy CMO, Tuensang briefed on the role and responsibility of village health committees under communitisation. He spoke on the importance of community getting into partnership, working together and sharing responsibilities in the management of public institution and services in order to make them function optimally and deliver quality services for the overall growth and development of the society. He called upon health committee at various levels to exercise their role in the management of community health centre, primary health centre and sub-centre.
T. Solomon Khiam, District Media Officer DPMU-NHM, Tuensang in a press release said that power point presentation on administrative matters, technical matters, financial matters, preventive health care, and promotion of indigenous medicine and mobilization of local resources were highlighted. Block Programme Manager, Peshe urged the participant to maintain properly all the records in their respective Health Centre and timely submission of reports. DMO, BPM, BAM, ASHA coordinator, staff under Thonoknyu PHC and VHC members under Thonoknyu block attended the awareness training.
