Village leaders sensitized on ‘Back to the Roots’

Kohima, October 25 (DIPR): A sensitisation programme on ‘Back to the Roots’ for village leaders under Kohima division was held on October 22, 2010 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima. The District Planning & Development Board Kohima initiated the programme, ‘Back to the Root’ – a step forward for village re-construction, with an aim to bring all the resourceful people of the village who are settled outside the village to come, sit together and plans for the upliftment of the village. It is observed that the educated people migrated from the village to urban areas, taking cognizance of these facts, the Kohima DPDB has brought about the concept of ‘Back to the Root’ with Village Vision Cell (VVC) to make an effort to persuade these people for their involvement in village development.

The programme was chaired by ADC Kohima, Alun Hangsing where Advisor IT&C and Chairman DPDB Kohima, Vikho-o Yhoshü gave briefing on the concept, followed by a wide range of interaction on the concept to bring the village leaders and the officials for the upliftment of the village. The programme was conceptualized and designed by ADC (Planning) & Member Secretary DPDB Kohima, Ketoho Luho.
