Village in Wokha bans hunting, absenteeism

Mungya Village passes various other resolutions

Dimapur, April 13 (MExN): The Mungya Village Council (MVC), under Wokha District has decided to bar all hunting and fishing activities within its jurisdiction.  

The Council also stated that all Government employees posted in its area “should be present at all time” and daily attendance will be recorded through the Board Chairman.  

No proxy teachers will also be allowed and all the teachers are asked to be present all the time at their respective posting.  

There resolutions, among many others, were passed during the 1st General meeting of the Mungya Village Council held on April 7, MVC Chairman M Eyilo Kikon informed in a press note received here.  

The Council, VDB’s along with its members also discussed various developmental agendas which were presented by its units and resolutions were adopted for the betterment of the village, it said.  

A resolution was also passed for the removal of all house’s fences within the village at the earliest, it added.  

No cremation of the dead will be allowed in the residential area except in the community graveyard, it said adding that the council also discussed on the extension of the community grave yard.  

The meeting was presided over by the Chairman followed by exhortations and blessing of the new office bearer, it said.  

The Council Chairman while acknowledging the contribution made by each member, also prayed for future support for the welfare of the village, it added.  

The meeting was also attended by units from Wokha, Kohima, Dimapur and Chukitong.
