Villages appeal for road connectivity

Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): While acknowledging the DAN government and the sitting MLA for allotting Langzang and Thsingar village under Singti and Seyouchung circle respectively for road connectivity under 7th phase of PMGSY commence from the year 2007-08, the two villages have appealed for early redressal and prompt action.
Chairman of Thsingar village, Kiphire Vikato STM and Langzang Village, Kiphire Thrikyuse in an open letter to the Chief Engineer PWD (Road and Bridges) Kohima, mentioned that the norms laid down in the PMGSY scheme is not followed and development has become a victim rather than to be a blessing to the stake holders. The villages alleged that the entire fresh cutting of the road, done in the year 2008-09, is left unattained by the department and the culvert and drainage in the entire stretch is done just for namesake and have worn out within a year making the villagers and the people who use this road undergo untold suffering. With the present status of the work that the village observes the villagers have lost faith in the department, the villages further added.
The letter also stated that despite repeated appraisal to the concern department and the contractors/firm, they have given false promise and turn blind eyes to the grievances faced by the villages. Therefore, the chairmen on behalf of the whole village request the concern department to verify the work and look into the grievances to save the people plying this road from further sufferings.
