DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Under 19 boys team beat Sikkim by 8 wickets at the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in Pondicherry today.
Sikkim won the toss and elected to bat first, managing to put up only 102 runs before being bowled out in 37.4 overs. Robin Limboo with 27 runs and Rahul Kumar with 20 runs were the highest scorers for Sikkim.
Daniel Jamir was the highest wicket taker for Nagaland with 3; followed by Hopongkyu Sangtam, Arjun, and Ram Jnagir with 2 wickets each.
In response, the Nagaland team managed to secure the target losing only 2 wickets in 18.1 overs. Vedansh was the higest run scorer for Nagaland with 43 runs. Hem and Shamphri socred 25 runs each.
Rahul Kumar grabbed both wickets for Sikkim.
Meanwhile, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the match between Nagaland and Pondicherry was abandoned due to rain.
