
Chennai, March 25 (MExN): The annual University Day celebration at VIT Chennai was graced by Katrina Knapp, Vice Consul, Australian Consulate-General in Chennai on March 25.
Speaking at celebration, Knapp highlighted various areas of collaboration between the two nations, including Centre for Australia-India Relations – a platform to support and facilitate work across government, industry, academic, and society with support from Australian Missions, an update stated here.
Through MAITRI, (MITE-TREE), Australia has announced 20 Million (Australian Dollar) worth fellowships, scholarships, and research grants. The partnership between the two nations was built on a shared belief in innovation, curiosity, and pushing boundaries, Knapp added.
Dr GV Selvam, Vice President, VIT, offered his felicitations to the students and the Presidential Address was given by Dr G Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT.
Sudeep Kunnumal, Chief Human Resources Officer Designate, Tata Consultancy Services was the guest of honour. Dr Viswanathan handed over the best outgoing students awards, and Dr GV Selvam handed over the best club/special team awards, and department achiever awards.
Dr PK Manoharan, Additional Registrar, welcomed the gathering, while Dr T Thyagarajan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, presented the annual report of VIT Chennai. Meritorious Rank holders from different departments received awards on the occasion.
