DIMAPUR, JUNE 13 (MExN): A programme for felicitation of Toppers of HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2018 of Nagaland Board was organised by Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Dimapur on June 10. Apart from the rank holder students and their parents, the programme was attended by school and college students, invited guests and general public.
The programme began with the welcome Address by Niranjan Saha, president of the foundation. Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee, an eminent educationist from the town and the chief patron of the foundation then narrated briefly as to how the foundation started. She also shed light on projects already undertaken and done successfully by the foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Dr CP Anto, NEISSR admitted that he was greatly influenced by the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and always held him in high esteem. He advised the students to adapt to the changes that are taking place every day and that too in the perspective of great digital disruption happening worldwide. He advised the parents to allow their children to freely choose their career.
Guest speaker, KP Avikasit, former Associate professor of Dimapur Government College urged the students to make an honest approach whenever they embark on any project to become successful. Advocate Y.P. Gupta, the legal Advisor of the foundation also spoke on the occasion. Momen Das, Principal of Shamrock School, Dimapur gave a short but motivating speech on choosing rights career by the students.
All the Toppers received mementos and certificates and the first rank holder of HSLC and HSSLC (all three streams) were additionally awarded a cash amount of Rupees five thousand each.
Incidentally two bright students from the same family of Dimapur, Shreyan Chhabra and Jahnvi Jain (brother-sister) were also honoured with mementos in appreciation of securing high ranks in JEE(Advanced) 2018 and NEET 2018 respectively.
