Naga writer Pongom Lam won the ‘Vocal for Local Northeast 2021’ in two categories- Poem of the year (Elegy) and Poem of the year (Sonnet) on October 21. Lam from Noklak village is best known for short poems and his area of interest includes nature, humanity, modern form of poetry, etc, stated a press note received here. Lam published his book “The Hardship of Life” in 2017 and “Being and Time” in 2018. Besides other honours and awards, Lam is also the winner of ‘Poem of the Year 2019’ by All North- East Featured Poetry Award. Lam holds Bachelor of Arts from St Joseph College Jakhama (History Honours) and Masters from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
