DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles under command HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) has executed a number of development projects for the benefit of the local population of Peren District. The long standing commitment of the unit for providing better career prospects to the local youth was established by the Inauguration of a Vocational Training Centre at Athibung. The project was undertaken by 32 Assam Rifles which provided Tailoring, Embroidery and Knitting machines and allied materials to the Vocational training centre. This was informed in a press note issued by PRO IGAR North.
Commandant 32 Assam Rifles inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre under DGAR MCA project on 14 May 2011 at Athibung. In handing over the centre to the citizens of Athibung town, the commandant highlighted the need for the local women to gain maximum benefit of vocational training.
The Kuki Mother’s Association and the town Chairman of Athibung thanked Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, HQ IGAR (N) and Brig Ved Prakash, Cdr HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles for their personal endeavor in the speedy execution of the establishment of the Vocational Training Centre and said that the local population would remain ever grateful for providing a ray of hope to the local unemployed women.
