
Our Correspondent Kiphire | August 13 Altogether 14 teams from Kiphire district are taking part in the 6th volleyball open tourney at Seyochung town which was inaugurated by the Kashiho Sangtam Asst. Director RD Kohima on Friday last, organised by the United Brothers. The chief guest said that such programs bring people together and make the bond of friendship stronger. He asked the gathering and the players to take an opportunity to build better relations while taking part in the tournament. The chief guest also said games and sports are essential for a healthy mind and sound health and added, “if one need to remain healthy one should take part in sports not only in tournament like this but also in ones daily life.” Lamenting that the town lacks opportunity for youngsters to exhibit their talent, the chief guest appealed the people to unite together to work towards developing the town. The chief guest also advised the gathering to learn how to accept each other and live as brothers so that peace and prosperity prevails in the area and the district. While welcoming the gathering, the President of United Brothers said that the objective of the tournament is to spread the message of oneness and peace through sports. The winner of the 5 days tournament will walk away with a cash price of 25,000 with certificate and runners up will be awarded Rs 15,000 and certificate, besides individual prizes.
