As the saying goes ‘volunteers do not have the time but the heart to do good deeds’, a group of five friends came together to do something good for the people of Mokokchung.

After collecting a few thousands from their pocket money, these five men Tekamedang Imchen, Imotoshi, Chubawati, Chuten Jamir and Imchatsung embarked on a good will mission to paint the walls that stretched across the Imnameren road at Arkong ward, Mokokchung.

Sacrificing their time and money, they have been working for four days painting the portraits of eminent Ao Naga leaders including Dr. Imkongliba Ao, Dr. T. Ao, P. Shilu Ao, Mayangnokcha and Dr. S. C. Jamir.

“Painting these portraits is a reminder to the young people of our great Ao leaders who worked towards the development of our state. We have painted them with the hope that the youngsters will learn a lesson and walk in their footsteps,” Tekamedong said.

The group of friends hoped that more youngsters will come forward and work for the people because they believe that small things in time lead to greater changes.
