Vote consciously, urges NBCC Clean Election Movement

Kohima, April 10 (MExN): The Convener of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council’s (NBCC) Clean Election Movement Dr Villo Naleo, today appealed to the electorate in Nagaland to “vote consciously by fearing God, and exercising the God-given ability to choose right from wrong” in the forthcoming general elections for the 18th Lok Sabha scheduled in Nagaland on April 19.

“This present Lok Sabha election seems to be less of a political tussle, but more of an ideological clash for the survival of democracy in India,” he stated in an appeal. To this end, the Convener pointed out that it is imperative for all voters in Nagaland “to recall the past, imagine our future, and do what is right in these unprecedented times.”

“In this changing situation in India, our unity is paramount to safeguard democracy so through our votes, the right government is formed,” he noted, stressing that India is “at the crossroads.”

What will decide the course of India’s future at this critical juncture is by voting for the right person and party, Dr. Naleo asserted.

“It is a requisite for us to take a stand and act. It is our duty as citizens to take a stand by showing our displeasure against any corrupted government and institutions that are inciting riots and vandalism across the country. It is our inherent moral right to fearlessly choose who can represent us holistically,” he added.
