Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): A tree plantation programme was organized by the Village Vision Cell (VVC) and sponsored by VDB Tseminyu village with the theme “Plant Tree to save the Earth” on May 14.
VCC Tseminyu village in a press release said that R. Khing, Parliamentary Secretary, Horticulture, Nagaland graced the occasion as chief guest. The chief guest in his short speech encouraged the villagers to plant trees which protect us from pollutions and also beautify the village. He stressed on the importance of economic well being of the villagers. He also advised the villagers to work harder with the available land resources to have a better yield for a better economy and upliftment of family and village as a whole. “Modern facilities are not only concentrated in the cities alone but is becoming a global village due to the advancement of IT. Therefore, we need to change our mindset, lifestyle and also to better economy and diet for “you are what you eat’” Khing stated.
The chief guest donated 1000 Orange sapling and 1000 silver oak and pine during the tree plantation programme.
