DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 17 (MExN): The Election Commission of India (ECI) in consultation with the Nagaland Government has designated Vyasan R, IAS as the new Chief Electoral Officer for the state.
The appointment of Vyasan R as the CEO comes into effect from the date he assumes charge and will remain in force until further orders. He takes over this crucial role, replacing V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, an ECI notification informed.
As part of this designation, Vyasan R will immediately cease to hold and hand over any charges or responsibilities he may have been holding under the Government of Nagaland before taking up the position of CEO.
During his tenure as the CEO, Vyasan R will not undertake any additional charges or responsibilities under the Government of Nagaland, except for the designation as the Secretary to the government in-charge of the Election Department in the State Secretariat.
