WACBCC Pastors’ fellowship condemns member’s assault

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Western Area Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (WACBCC) Pastors’ fellowship has strongly condemned “the barbaric act of attacking and beating mercilessly” of one of its pastors, Zasheve Vese and his sister-in-law by Lukhaye Yeptho and his three sons Aloka, Vinato and Niketo along with an associate identified as Kevika Yeptho in the evening of February 4, 2014 at the residence of the pastor without any reasoning and justification. The WACBCC Pastor’s fellowship, in a condemnation note issued by its chairman, C Danyi Lea and secretary, Neizo Koza expressed grief and resentment over such act of brutality and stated that such action has no place in this civilized society.

Diezephe

The Chakhesang Community of Diezephe has also strongly condemned the “life attempt” on Zasheve Vese, pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Diezephe Villageand his sister-in-law on February 4 at his residence. The chairman of the Community, Vepakhuyi Tunyi termed the “divisive act of barbarism and savagery as on the basis of tribal superiority mindset against fellow tribesmen/ brothers and sisters” and lamented even the “poor servant of God are not spared in his own house.” Further, stating that the Community consider the act of senseless violence as an insult not only to the victims, but the whole Community, the Chakhesang Community of Diezephe appealed to all right thinking citizens to come forward and condemn this kind of “cowardly act” in the strongest term. It also urged the law enforcing agency to properly investigate the case and award befitting punishment to the accused in order to avoid any untoward incident.
