Imphal, November 21 (MExN): The Women Action for Development (WAD) has lauded the concerted effort of authorities in Manipur for re-uniting a mother and her child who were separated in a case of domestic violence. The mother S Bijenti of Langathel has been running from pillar-to-post to be reunited with her four year old child for the last seven months without much result. On Novemebr 15, Bijenti took her case to the ‘Meeyamgi Numit’. Meeyamgi Numit’ is held on the 15th of every month at the CM’s secretariat as a forum for the general public to address their grievances and submit their suggestion. After submitting her case at the ‘Meeyamgi Numit’ on November authorities including police, hospitals and Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) swift into action and child was produced before the MCPCR on November 17.
