Pothole-laden stretches of NH-29 between Chathe River Bridge and Chümoukedima town. So far, repairs have been limited to temporary mud fillings, even at the crucial bridge. It remains to be seen whether authorities will accord a more permanent solution, the usual makeover just in time for visitors to the Hornbill Festival, Nagaland’s biggest cultural event, from December 1–10.
