Wangyuh responds to Chen Konyak union

Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): Former Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Wangyuh Konyak today listed out a number of project “schemes” for Chen areas the funds which he said have already been sanctioned ‘many years back.’ He was responding to a statement of the Chen unit of the Konyak Union over a number of development-related matters. 

The works he listed out were EAC headquarters at Chingkao which Konyak said all formalities have already been completed during his tenure; construction of Tehok-Chingkao-Wangti road for Rs. 284.97 Crore; construction of a road for Tehok-Chenloisho-Wangti via- Chen headquarter for Rs. 350.10 crore; “PMGSY road” from Chingkao to “mini-hydro project”; “PMGSY road” from Chenloisho to “mini-hydro project”; water supply to Chen SDO (Civil) HQ and Chenwetnyu; construction of a rest house at Chen under Urban Development Ministry and Tehok mini-hydro project.

“The above-mentioned schemes had been sanctioned many years back. I only want to know where the money has gone and why Konyak Union, Chen unit is taking interest now only? If anybody wants documentary proof, I am ready to furnish,” Konyak stated in his response. 

The former MP expressed happiness “that the people of Chen area could realize the necessity of roads in the area.” He said that the people “know the pains that they are now walking on foot, carrying essential commodities on head including dead bodies and the patients.” If the Konyak Union of Chen wants to take up the matter with the Government, he said, the listed projects should be taken up with the Government for early implementation.
