Miss Mon pageant was held on September 24, 2011 at local ground, Mon. The judges of the pageant were Legal Advisor of BASN, Azi Therieh, Vice President KNSK, Phangnon, Hawang President ENSF, Dr. Lemnyie and EAC Ilika Zhimomi.
‘Miss Mon’ beauty pageant 2011 concluded with the crowning of Wankam as Miss Mon 2011 by Phangnon, Vice President KNSK and former 2nd runners up of Miss Nagaland 1996. The 1st runners-up Nyempo Walim was also awarded with subtitle ‘Miss Talented’ and 2nd runners-up was awarded to Wanlen Pangtoklum. The subtitles of Miss beautiful skin was awarded to Ngunlem T.Wangsa, Miss beautiful hair to Phohe Wangsa, Miss Photogenic to Ngapyuh and Miss Congeniality to P.Valaen.
Ethel Konyak, the chief organizer of the beauty pageant is also one of the few, but well known models from the North East. According to her the main aim of organizing such event is to give chance to the beautiful and intelligent ladies of Mon district to show case their talent. Moreover, these things have become necessity in modern era, and in Mon there is no such platform where young, beautiful and intelligent ladies can show case their talent.
