
Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The Anti Extortion Team (AET) under Zone-II of the Dimapur Police, on April 24, has arrested two persons “wanted for several cases of extortion,” an official said.
The police identified them as one Akato Ayemi, alias Atoshe of Ahoto Village, Niuland and Keviletuo Sekhose alias Bubu, a resident of Church Colony, Dimapur.
“They were wanted for several cases of extortion including charges of Trespass into the Office of a prominent Print Media on April 14,” informed a press note from Addl. Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur.
Based on the photographs of the persons captured in the CCTV of several business establishments, the AET located and arrested them from Golaghat Road area, Dimapur, it said.
Akato is reportedly a 2nd Lieutenant and Keviletuo a ‘Khapur’ of the GPRN/NSCN, it added.
Police recovers carjacked vehicle
Meanwhile, personnel of Diphupar Police Station, on April 22, recovered a Swift Dezire, which was reportedly carjacked at gunpoint from Dimapur a few months ago and arrested two persons in connection with the incident.
Unidentified miscreants snatched the vehicle at gunpoint and based on the police investigation, two persons have been arrested so far and, more are expected to follow, the PRO press note informed.
The arrested persons were identified as P Renthungo of Yanthamo village, Wokha and Elomo Kikon of Tsungiki Village, Wokha.
