Jalukie, November 26 (MExN): Ward Chairman Union, Jalukie on behalf of Jalukie and Ahthibung blocks has appealed to the Department of Social Welfare to keep the system of the old age pension as it is for the interest of the beneficiaries and the public in general.
In a letter to the Director of Social Welfare, Ward Chairman Union, Jalukie president, Heilusing Iheilung and secretary, Tingbana N Hau pointed out that the Department of Social Welfare has initiated to convert the old age pension bank account to be linked with Aadhaar card for the beneficiaries under Jalukie and Ahthibung blocks. “The Jalukie block and Ahthibung block had a thorough discussion on the matter and has concluded as not viable. The majority of the beneficiaries of old age people reside in the interior villages of the area and some villages has no vehicular link to the Town,” stated the letter.
Therefore, it appealed to the department to consider the case on top priority and requested the system of the old age pension be kept as it is.
