
Pfutsero, may 16 (MExN): Ward Chairmen Union and GBs Association of Pfutsero Town have extended support to the Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) in their agitation against M/S Rama Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd., the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor for ignoring the NH29 Kohima-Jessami road stretch, under the supervision of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL).
“The NHIDCL, had tested the public patience to the limits, as the stretch of Kohima-Jessami road specifically packages 2 has been tell abandoned for years causing severe public inconvenience, numerous accidents and causing health hazards due to poor road maintenance, a situation that warrants accountability,” stated a press release issued by Mesulo Khalo, Convenor, Ward Chairmen Union, Pfutsero Town; Tusoveyo Puro, Secretary, Ward Chairmen Union, Pfutsero Town; Hunetsu Vero, Head GB, GBs Association, Pfutsero Town.
Given the slow progress and non-fulfillment of commitments on the 2-lane project, which comprises multiple packages, it is imperative to support the CSU’s demands, it stated. Their efforts to ensure timely completion and accountability are crucial for the community's benefit. Prolonged delays and false promises are no longer tolerable.
Hence, the two organisations supports the CSU decision to intensify its agitation as reiterated on May 12, and CSU Press Release dated May 14 demanding the termination of EPC Contractor M/S Ratna Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd. and seeking fresh tender.
They also prayed for the earliest resolution of the public demands and stand in solidarity with the intellectual students' bodies in their pursuit of justice and development, and urged the authorities to address the concerns and expedite the project's completion.
