Waste disposal vehicles launched

Wokha, March 30 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Wezope Kenye while addressing the gathering at the launching of the waste disposal vehicles on March 30 at DC conference hall said that, the district is enjoying the fruits of Swachh Bharat Abhayan (Clean India Movement) under the leadership of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.  

He also informed the gathering that the vehicles have been handed over by Department of Urban Development to the Town Council with an initiative for keeping the town neat and clean to protect our surrounding and environment. The DC also appealed to the various colonies/ward who have been given the responsibility as an ownership of the vehicle, to use the vehicle judiciously only for the clean movement.  

The DC hoped that each colony has formed the Management Committee with proper modalities for the use of the vehicle and further appealed to the gathering for ownership and responsibility to achieve the goal of the movement. DC also informed the gathering that very soon the district will have the benefit of cesspool vehicle for clearing of septic tanks which will cease the problem of releasing septic during monsoon which cause health hazard and damaging the environment.  

Rev. Sulumo Ezung, Pastor Wokha Town Baptist Church invoked God’s blessing for safe use of the vehicles and the programme was chaired by ADC Wokha, Hotolu Swu.  

Altogether eight vehicles were handed over to the existing 15 wards, where three wards can share one vehicle for the maintenance of clean India movement.
