‘Watchman’ addresses issue of social evils

Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The Watchman, consisting of pastors in Nagaland held a meeting on May 17. A press note stated that the meeting was called primarily to “prayerfully address the issue of social evils prevailing in Nagaland, which is destroying our society.”

Pastors and Christian leaders present appreciated the ban of night disco and brothel by NSCN (IM) and expressed their support towards such “God pleasing and approved act.”

The Watchman members appealed to all God loving people, especially churches, to “support the ban of social evils in our society which if not supported will have long term effect on our family and society.”  It added, “Through our support, such ban will not be a short term/periodical ban but will help in completely eradicating social evils making our family and society secure from the destructive effects of such social evils.” While requesting churches to prayerfully concentrate and have more children and youth ministries as “they are the future of our society,” the Watchman said, “Building our children and youths in God’s way will help in building God loving society free from social evils.”
