
Kohima, April 13 (MExN): Chief Secretary Nagaland, J Alam IAS held a meeting to review the action plan on Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain 2023 at Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, Kohima with participating departments under JSA: CTR 2023 on April 13.
During the discussion with the participating departments under JSA, the Chief Secretary said, “Sustainable water sources and water conservation are in the interest of everybody in the state since water availability is becoming a major challenge for the state.”
There are five water-stressed districts in Nagaland, namely Longleng, Kohima, Tuensang Zunheboto, and Kiphire, he informed.
The Chief Secretary said that ‘not only the departments physically involved but the whole government and the people need to be actively involved in this important endeavor.’
A DIPR report stated that JSA: CTR-2023 was launched on March 4, 2023 in all the districts of the country, covering both rural and urban areas with the theme ‘Source Sustainability for Drinking Water’ from March 4 to 30.
As the development of existing water sources is imperative to ensuring potable and quality drinking water, JSA this year is focusing on strengthening the water sources, it stated.
