Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): Apex Ao organizations, Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) and women organziation the Watsu Mungdang, today denounced what they termed in outright as continuous terrorizing of civilians and innocent public members by rogue underground elements, “so-called activists” and ‘faction.’
Naming one of two underground elements who allegedly shot one Imtila Jamir in Kohima on May 27, a furious AKM and Watsu Mungdang strongly implied in separate statements that the underground organizations must now rein in their rogue and undisciplined members who continue to terrorize the public members.
The Kohima unit of the apex Ao women organization, Watsu Mungdang, today named one of two underground elements who allegedly shot one Imtila Jamir in Kohima on May 27. A furious Watsu Mungdang today demanded that the underground organizations rein in their rogue and undisciplined members who continue to terrorize the public members.
The Watsu Mungdang issued a brief but strong statement today denouncing the crime and named one Worshim Tangkhukl and an unidentified accomplice “belonging to a certain underground organisation.” Which underground organization the miscreants were from, the Watsu Mungdang did not mention in the note.
“We, the Watsu Mungdang, Kohima unit vehemently condemn the assassination attempt on the life of Ms. M. Imtila Jamir, Registrar, Co-operative Societies (retired) on May 27th, 2011 at Kohima by Mr. Worshim Tangkhul and his accomplice belonging to a certain underground organisation,” the Ao women organization stated.
While urging that the law-enforcing agencies capture the miscreants and serve them befitting punishment, the Watsu Mungdang demanded that the underground factions rein in their rogue members who are terrorizing the public, not even sparing women.
“We would like to urge upon the law enforcing agencies to bring the culprits to book at the earliest and to leave no stone unturned towards arresting the two miscreants and award them befitting punishment as per law. Additionally, we also urge the underground factions to rein in such rogue and indiscipline members who go around terrorising the innocent public not even sparing women.”
The members of the Watsu Mungdang also appreciated the courage and presence of mind demonstrated by M Imtila Jamir during such a life-threatening situation.
Slamming the latest instance of terror against citizens, the May 27 shooting of a woman by gunmen, the Ao Students Conference (AKM) today cautioned against the continuous victimization of innocent public by “so called activits of the faction.”
“The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) strongly condemned the cowardice and barbaric act of the unidentified miscreants on the life attempt meted towards Ms Imtila Jamir, retired Registrar of co-operative society, government of Nagaland on 27th May 2011 at Kohima,” a note from the Ao students’ stated today.
“While condemning such act of the so called activits of the faction, the Ao Students’ Conference cautions the concern authority that such act of anti social element towards the innocent citizen of the state needs to be serious examined as in many instant such incident has been a continuous practices whereby the innocent public are victimized.”
The organization has also demanded that the-law enforcing agencies of the Government of Nagaland arrest the culprits at the earliest and serve him befitting punishment as per law.
