In an initiative to empower women through economic self-dependency, the Watsu Mungdang today at the AKM Conference Hall launched its Micro Financing Project (WMMFP) with Imlisunep Ao, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, as the chief guest. This ‘pilot project,’ in the words of the Watsu Mungdang officials, will provide ‘seed money’ to ten subordinate units of the Mungdang, initially covering a time frame of six months. The chief guest, Imlisunep Ao, while speaking during the launching ceremony of WMMFP lauded the Watsu Mungdang for the various activities that the Mungdang has been doing over the years for the welfare of women and the society in general.
