WCH congratulates Sano Vamuzo on BWA Human Rights Award

KOHIMA, JULY 13 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) has congratulated Sano Vamuzo on being conferred the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Quinquennial Human Rights Award for Lifetime Achievement during the 23rd Baptist World Congress held in Brisbane, Australia, from July 7–12, 2025.

WCH, in a statement, lauded Vamuzo for her outstanding global contributions in advancing human rights, social justice, and peace.

A recipient of the Padma Shri in 2024, Vamuzo is also a founding member of the Naga Mothers' Association and the first chairperson of the Nagaland State Commission for Women. Her leadership has been credited with redefining women’s empowerment, promoting conflict resolution, and building bridges of peace beyond the Naga community.

The Hoho expressed pride and gratitude for her achievement and prayed for continued strength and grace upon her life and mission.
