WCSU & EVSU flay act towards student

Wokha, February 27 (MExN): The Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) and Elumyou Village Students’ Union (EVSU) has condemned the alleged crime committed towards one of its students on February 26, where one Bopin Randam from Dimapur, kidnapped a student of Government Higher Secondary School Wokha.


The student is said to be appearing his class XI promotion exam, a native of Elumyou village and also a member of EVSU residing at Tourist Colony Wokha.


A joint press statement from WCSU, President C Longshithung Lotha and EVSU, President M Rikhyo Yanthan alleged that Randam came along with five of his companions “with an ill intention,” where later the student was taken to Kohima from his residential place, Wokha on February 26.


Making an appeal to all concerned citizens to condemn such act, the student bodies also appealed the law enforcing agencies to book the culprit as per the law.


It further acknowledged Kohima Lotha Students’ Union for the timely intervention towards the incident.


Meanwhile, the WCSU cautioned that any person that acts as a barrier toward the peaceful environment of Wokha town and its jurisdiction, “the WCSU will take its own course of action, where people involved in committing crimes will be solely responsible.”
