Wokha, March 27 (MExN): The Wokha District Construction Workers Society (WDCWS) has decided to impeach its general secretary Nchumthung Tungoe with immediate effect for “violating Article 6 of the society constitution.” Senchibemo Lotha has been elected to replace him.
The decision was taken during the WDCWS office bearers’ emergency meeting held at the society’s office on March 26. The house deliberated on the misuse of power by its general secretary despite repeatedly warned by the society to refrain from it, stated a press release from WDCWS president, Subenthung Ngullie and general secretary, Senchibemo Lotha.
The society condemned “such illegal collection of cash in the name of the society which tarnishes the image of the society.”
It also informed all the general public and its members that henceforth Nchumthung will no longer represent the society and need not entertain him regarding the society business. Meanwhile, the house also elected Nyanthung Lotha as joint secretary along with the election of the new general secretary.
