WOKHA, JULY 12 (MExN): The Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA)and Wokha District Administration conducted a one day workshop With the DBs, GBs and Village Councils in Lotha Dialect on July 12 at the DCs Conference Hall.
Speaking on the roles and responsibilities of DBs, GBs and Village Councils, Mhathung Tsanglao, ADC Wokha urged them to discharge their duties effectively with utmost dedication as they are the custodians of Naga customary laws and practices as provided in Article 371(A) of the Constitution of India.
Advocate & Panel Lawyer, Renbonthung Tsanglao speaking on Lok Adalat and its mechanism said that Lok Adalats have jurisdiction to determine and to arrive at a compromise and settlement between parties whether pending cases or pre-Litigation cases and is governed by consensual participation. Advocate & Panel Lawyer, David Ezung spoke on the basic procedures of law while Advocate & Retainer Lawyer Meribemo A Lotha spoke on Money Lenders Act and its jurisdictional authority. The programme was chaired by Advocate & Project Assistant Shanchobeni P Lotha.
