WOKHA, March 17 (MExN): Legal Services Camp for Workers in Unorganized Sector helped register 193 construction workers under the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers scheme in Wokha on March 16.
The camp was organized by Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) under the aegis of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Wokha.
The WDLSA team of Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers acted as a bridge between the construction workers and the nodal department by identifying the construction workers through visits to construction sites and door to door visit in Wokha Town and nearby villages.
During the camp, the officers of Labour Department apprised the beneficiaries of the schemes in local dialect before the registration. The process of registration could be completed at the camp itself as the officials of Labour department validated the genuine construction workers and issued ID card, stated a press release from NSLSA.
