WDSCA celebrates Silver Jubilee

Wokha, October 24 (MExN): Wokha District Senior Citizens Association (WDSCA) celebrated its 25 years at Tiyi Hall, Wokha on October 24 with MLA Dr Chumben Murry as the special guest and Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha as the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, a DIPR report stated that Dr Chumben Murry congratulated all the pioneers and members for the efforts they have put in and taking the association thus far and achieving a milestone. He said their role for the up liftmen of the society and community is very important and urged them to continue their good deeds and contribution so that younger generation will emulate the good examples.

DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha congratulated the association for providing a platform for all senior citizens to come together and share their rich experiences.

Earlier, the MLA and DC Wokha released the jubilee history and approval of WDSCA constitution.

Rev LK Tsanglao spoke on the theme ‘The Responsibility of Older Persons’. Rev Nyanchumo Lotha, Executive Secretary LBCA, Vankhosung offered prayer of blessing for the older persons.

President, WDSCA, Wokha, M Rhonbemo Murry delivered the welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Vic President WDSCA, Zubemo Kikon.
