The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary, Ram Madhav today said that the Naga Political Groups and Government of India are engaged in serious talk and in an “advance stage.”
“We are engaged in serious talk... we want an honourable solution within our Constitution,” Madhav said addressing the virtual rally organised by BJP Nagaland on June 25 in commemoration of 1 Year of Modi 2.0.
“An honourable solution to this problem so that all the people of Nagaland can live a peaceful happy life as proud Nagas and proud Indians.”
‘Here in Nagaland, we are all proud Indian. We have some issues. Those issues, how do we resolve?’ Madhav posed, implying that it can be only through talks.
He though admitted that it is not “easy” as it is an issue that has been pending for “very a long time.”
To this end, he said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government is “working hard” towards securing and achieving an early solution.
“I’m sure on that on both sides there will be enough wisdom to make sure we arrive at an early conclusion so that people of Nagaland will be free from any kind of harshness...difficulties...tension and live a peaceful life as citizens of this great country and citizens living in this great state called Nagaland,” he added.
He also assured that as the partner in the state government, the party would strive to give the people of Nagaland a government that cares for the last person, living in the remotest village. The party would strive to bring good life to the people of Nagaland, he said, adding, “This is our commitment to you as a party and as a partner in the government.”
Meanwhile, he also complimented the government of Nagaland for “effectively containing” the spread of COVID-19, saying this was critical and expressed his hope that the state would prevail over the virus soon.
India has been a shining example to the entire world in containing the threat under the able guidance of PM Modi, he added.
The frontline workers – Heath workers, police, civil administration and sanitations etc were also lauded in his speech.
One of the reason behind India’s ‘success’ was also due to people’s adherence to lockdown rules in general, he pointed out.
Dwelling on border issue, Madhav said that India under PM Modi would not compromise on the nation’s integrity and is determined to “secure each inch of our territory.”
Consequently, he called for respecting the armed forces as well as striving to take India towards a self-reliant economy.
