DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 30 (MExN): The ACCC of 30 A/C Alongtaki in a memorandum to the AICC Incharge of North East India, protested the inclination of a certain leader in the CLP to offer the Party ticket of the A/C to the BJP MLA Tiameren who resigned from his party yesterday to join the Congress, as learnt from reliable sources. The memorandum stated that the ACCC and all the other party members including 30 villages had, by a unanimous Resolution passed in the meeting on September 20, 2007 at Longchem Headquarter, nominated Er. T. Saku Aier and recommended his name to the DCC as its candidate for the forthcoming election. Hitting out at the former MLA Tiameren, the ACCC said that he was a rolling stone reported to have resigned on being expelled from his party, the Committee said that during Tiameren’s term as MLA, there was no trace of development works.
Under the prevailing facts and circumstances, the ACCC stated that the people had resolved for a change in the election MLA thereby recommending Er. T. Saku Aier, who is an Ex-candidate and NPCC Member for the ticket. Therefore it protested the aforementioned inclination of the CPL leader who is said to be ignoring the mandate of the people constituency and the unanimous resolution of the Congress party in particular.
The ACCC appealed to the AICC general secretary, Margaret Alva that the popular and unanimous will and interest of the electorates and the party workers should not be frustrated for personal inclination/affiliation of a certain member of the CLP or NPCC to the BJP MLA. It also pleaded that no outside influence be allowed to prevail over the will and interest of the constituency people in the selection and nomination of candidate from the constituency on the ticket and asserted that they were the best judge to select their leader. The ACCC also issued a padded caution that any act of the NPCC or AICC against the will of the party workers in the constituency would be ‘a step taken for self defeat’.
